Reagan really changed things for me. He was the closest thing to a Libertarian we had during my lifetime. I loved that man.

I agree. He was an excellent president and personified the best qualities that a Commander in Chief should possess. My main beef with him was that he escalated the disastrous "war on drugs", but his positive attributes far outweighed his negatives, IMO.

Now, Dubya is no Libertarian.

Not even close, in many instances.

But he's also no Socialist.

True. And that's the primary reason why I prefer him to Kerry. Both major parties seem determined to grow the size and scope of government (unfortunately), but at least the GOP seems to understand that in order to milk the cow, you can't first eat it for dinner...

Please don't sit this one out.
