Yiwu, by the time that yucky tar-sand oil is excavated, extracted, piped to the West coast, and shipped to China you will have had to burn several barrels of energy to get one barrel of fuel. It makes more economic sense for China to buy oil from the Mideast, and to ship the tar-sand oil to the U.S. Better yet, leave the tar-sand in the ground for a few hundred million years until the sand is compressed into sandstone which can be drilled with conventional methods.
