I am retired and living onshore (about 100 yards)from the ocean in Florida.
I have everything I want right here, except for 3 hurricanes
I have my boat, my golf and my Gal.
Been here for about 15 years,it is expensive, but if you don't need a boat or a country club it's doable on little money.
The state absorbs a chunk of your real estate taxes.
It seems that seniors get a discount on most things.
It may feel like you are offshore,About 20% of the people speak Spanish.
I suggest you try it before you go some where else.
There are medical facilities (the best)seems like on every street, most are geared for seniors.

Good luck.
