Simply not true IMO. If you were on a merchant ship crossing the Atlantic right after we declared war on Germany you wouldn't have thought the world was safer yet either. Most Americans realize the importance of taking the fight to the enemy will be far safer in the long run. Your points are in the realm of shallow, disingenuous political rhetoric.
