In 2000 Bush et al had long been looking for excuses to invade Iraq for oil profits. What makes you think that the killing of SS, Medicare and all other non-corporate-welfare programs haven't been on the books for even longer?

They have.

Bush WILL ELIMINATE SS if he gets the chance. He's already started in on Medicare, making it so expensive that it will have to be cut.
