Hi Raymond,

What an unusual world we live in when a supposed left wing UK prime minister is on "best buddy" status with a Republican of the likes of George Bush. Makes one wonder.

Tongue-tied Blair fluffs easy questions

politics.guardian.co.uk

Interesting question:-

November 2
US election. Critics say this is "lose-lose" for Blair. A Kerry victory would leave Blair as the only prominent world leader supporting the invasion of Iraq. A Bush victory will risk a repeat of the invasion of Iraq in another country. Blair aides insist the election is "win-win". Victory for Kerry would "liberate" Blair by freeing him from Bush. A Bush win would mean he was not exposed.

I just see it as "Lose-Lose". But maybe I am hoping too much. I think Blairs aides are wrong though. This country is just soooo anti the Iraq war, and so am I. The good done by our troops appreciated, the politicians not.
