Sure, I'm not arguing about that. My amazement is why the Americans, in particular, are so susceptible to religious fantasy?
And yes, I can also understand, according to Marx, how poor, uneducated, uninformed, unenlightened, "unexposed" people can be bamboozled by all that stuff, but I would have thought that Americans were different -- in fact, I expected them to be like their counterparts in other English-speaking countries eg UK, Australia and Canada or even Europeans, generally. But, instead, they appear to have a proclivity towards religion which seems to be no different from that of the Muslim fanatics whom they despise.
