It was the Left who refused to give Bush's court nominees even so much as a fair hearing

This is not the type of thing that unites or divides a country.

It certainly is. I probably have more hatred toward the Left for this than I do any other transgression. What you have done to the Constitution is unforgivable. Agreeably, fewer people realize the importance of this -- but those of us who think a little more deeply about matters can see the damage done.

it was the Left who chronically treated Bush as though he was some sort of mental defective

He is, isn't he?

As has been pointed out time and again, Bush has significant accomplishments in his life that could only have been made with substantial intellectual ability. Certainly, he outranks Al Gore and John Kerry in intellect.

Alienated a huge chunk of the American population through his un-American activities in his campaign to improve America's safety (much of America doesn't like anyone's civil liberties getting destroyed by OUR government)

Huh? This is the area where the American people give him the highest marks. They overwhelmingly approve of his actions. Only the extreme Left has a problem with it.

cite his religious beliefs repeatedly and their influence on setting policy (much of American appreciates the separation of church and state)

Well, most people in this nation are religious and supportive of Bush's religion. Not a dividing issue. Certainly, Kerry flaunts his purported religion much more than Bush does (Kerry having shown up in black churches the last three Sunday mornings).

and his failure to execute well on the post-major combat operations in Iraq (much of America doesn't want a President to fail in major overseas operations which involve their kids lives).

I guess we'll see what America thinks about it.
