IMPORTANT MUST READ! Several years ago a few of S.I's more prominent posters got embroiled in a lawsuit with a news wire service for disseminating a false news release. It was a prank but the posters ended up being sued and consequently racked up sizeable legal bills. There was an appeal made here on S.I. and many people, including myself contributed to the defense fund. We were promised our money back if and when it was settled. I personally threw in $500. I not only didn't get a receipt, I never got my money back when the case was settled by one of the party's insurance companies. care to explain bill?
