The Buchananites are entitled to their opinion and to trumpet it as they please....
However, I have the same right and I disagree. In a nuthsell, here's why:
I don't think Saddam posed no threat to the US (hard to claim when he was still shooting at our planes 12 years after the ceasefire)...and whenever our "image is degraded"...to me that means our foreign policy is doing what it ought to which is to put US interests first....this is the same nonsense the naysayers used to spout about Reagan...well Reagan stayed the course and he was right...just as history shall also prove Bush correct....
I disagree with Bush's immigration policy....as I did previously on his (now reversed) policy of steel and textile tariffs. But, then again, I don't expect to agree with the Prez on every issue....I don't agree on his stem cell decision...but I can respect it as a reasonable compromise....
Bush's tax cuts across the board benefit all Americans and our economy. The "tax cuts for the rich" rhetoric is disingenuous and dishonest class warrior BS.
The Bush lied on Iraq rhetoric is also dishonest and non-factual as anyone with a clue about the intel biz knows.
On balance, Bush would never have been my first choice for President on the Repub. side. But, he has proven to have more mettle than I first suspected....AND to vote for Kerry, who (as a conservative, veteran, father of two) is IMO, a pompous, lying, treasonous, gigolo without a core.....would make no sense at this particular perilous time as some sort of protest....as between the two.......I will vote for GWB because Kerry is an unthinkable choice.
