What's going to happen if Kerry allows seniors to start buying drugs from Canada? No one is going to buy drugs from here anymore.

How is that possible? I would suspect that Canada would see only those Americans who live within 300 miles of its borders.

Everyone will want to buy American drugs through Canada. As a result, you have virtual price controls here in the homeland, and the pharmaceuticals will demand that Canada either release their controls or face an embargo.

The FDA says Canadian drugs are cheaper because they are of lesser quality. The Canadians disagree and say its because the FDA puts so many restrictions on drugs and their manufacture that it forces their price up. You say because the pharmaceuticals are giving Canada a break.

I tend to think the Canadian argument makes the most sense.

There goes the Canadian free ride.

Ten, the FDA has been an albatross for years that desperately needs to be overhauled. Its review process is so cumbersome that drugs are on the market in Europe in half the time they are here. More and more, small biotechs complain that the FDA stands in the way of progress. I suspect the FDA is the primary culprit for why drugs are more expensive here. The FDA is also the one that screwed up the flu vaccines.

I agree with Kerry.....seniors can't afford to screw around and wait til the system gets overhauled.
