Yes, I am blessed to have them all so near. My oldest daughter lives in Cat Spring which is about an hour from us, but we talk every night at least an hour so feel close about what is going on in our family.

I am really big on birthdays and our family is growing so large that we have at least one a month and celebrate with all the family usually, especially the little ones and going out to dinner for the adults so that there is no one that has to end up with kitchen duty. lol

My best friend's son lives near West Palm Beach and it will be at least nine months to a year before he and his family will get back in their home. They had just put in real oak floors and two trees fell into their house (the only two trees they had and each over a hundred years old) and had just had their yard re-landscaped. They called a company with a crane to remove them and he never showed up so they called two other companies thinking at least one would show up and then both showed up and got into a physical fight over who would do the job and both left, so a fourth was called and finally got the trees off the house. My friend arrived there Friday afternoon and the hurricane hit around 9:00 p.m. She spent most of her time helping clean up the yard and putting branches at the curb but left before the next hurricane hit Florida. Said she was glad they were young and probably be able to handle it better than an older person such as she. Vacation turned into a job.

They are still dealing with their insurance company and having to rent a small apartment that is costing them #3,000.00 a month. Had to put their furniture in storage as it would not fit in the apt. so that is costing them too.

I hope your repairs go well for you. It is so unsettling to have to do things by phone and not be able to inspect work as it is being done. So many scammers send in people who just want the money and insist on a down payment and disappear after leaving things undone and a mess. I was told that the State would not let you have a permit to repair or rebuild unless your insurance company proved their liability in writing so as many people that have been affected now have to wait to apply for the permit as told they are being slow to comply because they have so many claims and insurance companies need proof of damage before paying a claim.
