War sometime ensures peace..
Exporting this war from US soil to where it belonged is success of strategy, the very reason we see attacks on innocent populace of Iraq and Afghan and Pakistan is that they cannot find hard targets, this turning of guns to their own cousins have opened eyes of those naysayer in our countries who always found moral equivalence with every act of terror.
This is a war where neither geography is defined nor the size of enemy, it can always be argued that US has lost a lot of credibility within the Muslim world as a result of this war, interest of US and other countries may have not been the same
from decades.
US involvement in South East Asia and her ability to stop the yellow tide of communism and revert the tide n helping create an implosion that brought communism to its knees in China as well as Russia is the success of the sacrifices of Vietnam. It is very easy to enjoy benefits of bilateralism with ex communists and capitalistic countries and forget what brought this change; the change did not come in vacuum. Like peaceful Bosnia today needed intervention and sacrifices, peaceful Kosovo is not an accident but result of few bombs in Belgrade the perpetrator of the crime. The peace dividend from implosion of the ‘evil empire’ was achieved not by well wishes and sweet talks it was hard stances and containment by strategy and war. We human beings have this ability to overlook gains and concentrate on losses, we live in very peaceful times because we were ready to sacrifice, the global environment for trade has been so conducive and all the world is progressing in synergy from BRIC’s to US to China, a unique phenomenon, the connectivity with all the controls is ever increasing the benefits albeit in tickle down manner are reaching poorest of the nations, new levels of foreign exchange reserves are hall mark of old bankrupt nations, these new reserves are helping new consumption and improvement of quality of life. The challenges today are equally important the gauntlet thrown to ‘new axis of evil is a new phase of human maturity and has helped sanity to prevail in the world instead of control of vandals. We reap the benefits but abuse the strategy, it is not vacuum that is helping bring stability it is rather the fruits of defiant strategy.
Liberals lament loss of creditability in the world of Islam they quote Mubarak idea of having million new Osama’s out of this war, but the rage of impotence within world of Islam has always being producing Osama’s, the suicide bombers are no small freedom fighters they are indoctrinated symbols of hate and they precede OBL. It is deterrence that will help being détente no other way is possible. What is the use of so called credibility where Islamic world has always pointed to US for their own failings and the credibility where US citizens are/were under global fatwa and akin to cannon fodder fro OBL war against his own Saudi dynasty? A war that has no geography and no limits needs to be fought with accuracy that goes beyond conventional laws, logic and strategy of war. Instead of being grateful that post 911 eleven the homeland was secured and the vandals have been challenged in their own home territory and their own governments who were harboring them are now helping eliminate them, the liberal lobby has made it a cause celebre that this war had no foundation, they are enjoying the fruits of war by seeing security and stability, they are seeing new waft of freedom all around but for them this a natural progression of event, it is here where they are so sadly wrong. |
