A case can be made for anything, including theories that JFK was murdered by the mob or that aliens landed in Mew Mexico.

Did Iraqi officials engage in contacts with known terrorists? Probably. Did known terrorists visit Iraq? Probably. Did known terrorists (on the FBI watch list) reside in the United States prior to 9/11? Yes. Does that make the Bush administration a sponsor of terrorism? Of course not.

In the case of Saddam, his goals, if one believes the Duelfer report, were the elimination of sanctions and the resumption of WMD programs. Exactly how would sponsoring terrorism further that effort? It doesn't. Any link with terrorism would only give the US new ammunition to continue even more aggressive sanctions and military activity.

The Saddam/terror connections are not supported by anything resembling strong evidence. When was the last time (before the invasion) that an Iraqi was arrested anywhere on terror charges? If anything, the Saudis were up to their necks in financial sponsorship of al Queda, yet that seems to be overlooked.

Never mind Al Qaeda - are you seriously claiming that Saddam had NO involvement with terrorism? If so, you are seriously deluded.
