There is no undo-key for the Iraqi mistakes.

Things that would have worked a year ago, or even months ago, will not work now.

The U.S. has to get out.
They have to get all the way out, they can't say we'll leave if you just give us the oil fields. I know that's Cheney's preferred solution.

The results are not likely to be good if the U.S. gets out with nobody else to replace them, so the winning strategy seems to be to find someone else to foist this war onto.

I would think that the UN or surrounding countries are the candidates. The trick is, the U.S. can't choose, it's going to have to be the Iraqi's that choose if there is any hope.
