Also there is the fact that 380 tons was really a drop in the bucket in Iraq

"Bush said Wednesday that troops seized or destroyed 400,000 tons of munitions at more than 1,000 sites in Iraq."

There you go again.

High explosives does not equal munitions

When Bush and Cheney say such statements they are comparing apples, and oranges. Or more accurately, they are comparing diving weights to tennis balls.

High explosives are of course only one component of munitions. 380 tons of high explosives would be used in the manufacture of *thousands of tons* of munitions.

Munitions are not wholly composed of High explosives. Munitions are heavier. They include steel, aluminum, kevlar, depleted uranium and all sorts of other things.

One of the high explosives stolen can be dissolved in water.

Munitions do not dissolve in water.

Apples and oranges, diving weights and tennis balls.

We expect the campaigns to distort things, but maybe people here could avoid that tendency.

(and I'm surprised the media haven't grasped this yet either)
