You will see that from their perspective, US has long been harming them before they had to take the extreme measures.

I might be interested in their perspective as a matter of academic curiosity or to help understand how to defeat them, but I don't see it as being relevant to this particular discussion. I don't see an assertion of their perspective as being a refutation of my point that "Al Qaida made themselves our enemy. We didn't go hunting for them until they came after us." The perspective that asserts we were waging war against Al-Qaida before 9/11, or that we were or are waging war against Islam, or against Arabs is simply an inaccurate perspective.
