On July 14, 2003, syndicated columnist Robert Novak reported that Valerie Plame was a CIA operative. He also reported that "two senior administration officials" told him that Ms. Plame suggested her husband, former Ambassador Joseph C. Wilson, be sent to Africa to investigate claims that Saddam Hussein had tried to buy uranium ore from Niger. If these same "administration officials" informed Mr. Novak that Valerie Plame was a covert CIA operative, then they violated federal law.

I'm not sure what you're questioning. If it's the term, "White House source"... I stand corrected and restate that to what Novak reported: "two senior administration officials."

At some point an unidentified White House source committed a felony by leaking classified/"
