I think the voters know that Kerry is an opportunist with the backbone of a salamander. The issue is whether it will make any difference to the undecided or whether they will assume this is simply par for the course for politicians and forgive him for these traits, examining his other qualities, which are basically non-existent, a fact which leads me to the ultimate conclusion: This election is not about Kerry, whom just about everybody dislikes, but about Bush and his record. If the Bush record rankles a voter more than Kerry's warts do, he will hold his nose and vote for JFK2. Ditto on the other side.

My opinion is that very few voters are enthusiastically for either candidate in the way that folks were enthusiastic about Reagan, FDR, and others.

On a national level, it's a matter of who sucks the least, I'm afraid.
