Which is, more or less, 10,000 downloads an hour.
That would make it 85,265,980 downloads per year [assuming one day off a year].
How many businesses are getting 100 million new customers per year? Not many.
People like to yak to their friends, families, business associates and others around the world for at most US2c a minute, which includes to USA cellphones, and for no charge to other Skype users. They especially like to do that when the voice quality is better than normal telephones.
When QUALCOMM phones can handle Skype calls, I'll be much happier. That'll help get around the criminally extorquerationate charges that dinosaur telecom monopolists have charged for a century. I look forwards to dancing on their graves.
Let's hope QUALCOMM isn't asleep at the wheel. The service providers which enable Skype calling on their cyberphones will do extremely well.
Verizon's/Vodafone's walled garden ideas will hopefully ruin them. All service providers should do is provide a big, fat, fast and cheap pipe, and BREW, plus gpsOne and other services. But subscribers should be able to do anything they like. Airlines don't fly you to another city provided you go only where and when they decide, and charge you the prices they decide. They just provide the transport [and they don't even do that very well]. You do your own thing at the destination.
