I don't see much to play right now. I'm sure the major players will reach an agreement to begin the planning process. But I think a commitment to actually construct the pipeline is at least a year or two away.

One way to play right now is to own the gas leaseholders: BP, COP, XOM. I wrote covered calls on my BP and had it called away in September, but I'm looking for a chance to reload as energy stocks pull back. I also considered buying TRP and ENB, but I usually avoid stocks that don't have options.

Another idea is to own local Alaska companies that benefit from a strong energy-based economy, such as couple of the larger banks. But this is a pretty small pond, they are thinly traded, and don't have options.

Got any other ideas?
