Doug: Nice information.

Once you leave the border towns, tourist traps, and resorts, Mexico has a lot going for it -- including some of the worlds tastiest cuisine.

Baja is a thought. I have an acquaintance that has towed a camper to Baja for the last ten years and spends winters fishing and enjoying life along the Eastern shore -- he claims that the weather is wonderful, the people are friendly, and that the cost of living unbelievably reasonable.

For those who wonder why one might relocate offshore -- consider the cost of living; keeping in mind that "a dollar saved is a dollar earned" plus tax -- the declining dollar -- the looming social/political unrest fomenting in the US -- and remember the internet brings the world to your desktop in an instant.

Hopefully the adventures of life will not be over, or slow to a fearful crawl, at 65. We know if you have your health it’s hard to imagine the fear of leaving the shadow of a medical facility; then again, you are never sure when illness will strike and your opinions change. :^)
