New Partnership Targeting High-End Condominiums for High-Speed Internet Access
GERMANTOWN, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 29, 2004--Telkonet, Inc. (Amex: "TKO"), the leader in commercial powerline communications (PLC) and the Company bridging the "Outlet to the Net", today announced it has partnered with MetroNets2000 to provide a complete Internet solution to multi-dwelling unit residential buildings. MetroNets2000 is a metropolitan Washington DC broadband Internet service provider that specializes in offering broadband Internet access to premium condominiums. Telkonet provides the in-building Internet connectivity solution, delivering the Internet signal within buildings over existing electrical wiring using powerline communications (PLC) technology. Together, with the Telkonet and MetroNets2000 broadband Internet package, property owners and managers now have a cost-effective Internet solution that is quick to deploy, making their buildings more desirable to residents.
The prestigious Washington DC Watergate West condominium, a high-rise building with 135 units, is the first building to implement the MetroNets2000/Telkonet broadband Internet solution. MetroNets2000 provided a T1 based Internet service to the building and used Telkonet's PlugPlus(TM) system to distribute the Internet signal within the building to virtually every electrical outlet in each unit.
