> I listen to "One" by U2 (on Achtung Baby). It's pretty inspiring, at least for me, in dealing with the pain and commitment of a Loooooooooonnnnnng marriage.<
Hello Gracie, may I call you Chris? My favorite one is "It's a thin line between love and hate" by the Pretenders...dunno why, just my icky gooey sensitive side coming out I guess! (BFG)
>Anyone else have a favorite song about commitment, that actually makes them feel strong and committed, not like running out the door?<
Yes, I was listening to "The Wall" on headphones one night after taking some real kick-butt psylocibin (SP?) mushrooms and the police broke my door down cause I forgot to turn the speakers off, and I guess it was pretty loud cause the lights dimmed every time it hit the bass notes.
Anyway, right at the point in one song where Waters sez: "Is there anybody out there?", I get this real intense video of my front door coming apart at the frame, and this big ugly COP with bad teeth and excess nasal hair pins me against the wall with his night stick and sez:"Excuse me *SIR*, your *MUSIC* is a *LITTLE* *LOUD*, would you *MIND* turning it *DOWN*?" On each emphasized word he'd jab the stick in my rib cage for extra "meaning", then he bit through the power cord on the stereo, blowing the circuit breaker and knocking the power out, and causing an intense shower of sparks as the room filled with the smell of urine and burning hair.....
Wow, you might say that was a REAL bummer night, that was in fact about as close as I have ever come to being committed...does that count?
Oh, and Hank Williams Jr. "All my rowdy friends have settled down", which I did voice over dubbing to Laurie Anderson's "Home of the Brave". (not sold in stores)
