Personally, I prefer the late John Galt in the role of thread nemesis, who at least could back up his rhetoric with substance, and in the process of his abuse forced new avenues of thought. Wow. You've conquered your fear of death? That's incredible. You're amazing. I wonder, would you have the same confident air, bound and gagged in an alley, as you first feel the subtle sting of steel across your throat. (Melodrama intended...). Sure, acceptance of the fact of death is something we all need to do. But why then is the fear of it such a bad thing? Damn, fear of death has saved my life on many occasions.
