If the "senior administration official" disclosed her identity unintentionally and it's not a crime, and there was no political intent, why doesn't the senior official save the taxpayers the cost of the FBI investigation and come forward to end this?

Of course, if that person did comeforward it raises a whole bunch of other issues, like... perhaps that person wasn't authorized - but how did he/she find out? And how stupid are these "high officials" anyway?
