"Bush 'told' of planned strike before 9/11"

english.aljazeera.net

"President George Bush was told more than a month before the September 11 attacks that supporters of Usama bin Ladin planned a strike within the United States, The New York Times has reported .....the newspaper on Saturday said the warning came in a secret briefing that Bush received at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, on 6 August 2001. "

RE: "who does this 'event' benefit in the election. My wild guess is Bush"

Of course it'll benefit Bush. bin Laden is absolutely clueless how his appearance will push the wind towards Bush. If you look at this part here, it's clear he's trying to convince voters that Bush is bad, but ironically his simple appearance will push the wind towards Bush:

He accused Bush of reacting slowly to the September 11 attacks, saying: "I never thought that the supreme leader would leave 50,000 of his people in the two towers to face the terrifying events alone at the time they were in need for him."
