There is plenty of criticism that can be dumped on Bush. I think many presidents have gotten free rides on issues. I also think there are many candidates that have gotten free rides. I think environmental policy is an issue that the entire world needs to embrace. It's great to lead but the results will be limited if China isn't honoring them as well (for example). When we do embrace new environmental rules as a globe we'd better prepare (initially) for some unemployment pain. Over time the technology will create employment but we don't seem to be a culture with a very good willingness to see things over time. The Stock market crash and 9/11 we not GW's fault. Jobs were lost by the millions. The fact we don't have them all back in 2 years has let Kerry go out and tell people Bush lost all the Jobs. Thats not true and its not fair. Harder environmental policy (which I support) will be a tough conversion on jobs. Are we willing to take the pain?
