Jonah Goldberg makes arguments I can't buy. I have not read everything OBL has said but I have never seen where he thinks we are weak. That seems to be a recurrent theme among the right. No question OBL doesn't like us......but its because of our past actions in the ME and not because we are 98 lb weaklings.

And even if he did see us as weak, how weak is a nation sitting on the kind of arsenal we have? No.......its the argument the right wants us to believe...........that OBL thinks we are weak and so we must prove that we are not. You forget what one of your rightie ancestors used to say.......walk softly but carry a big stick. There is more power in restraint than there is in exercising that power. Iraq is a classic example. Sure shock and awe looked impressive. However, the last year and half of insurgent fighting has made us look stupid and weak.

When will the right ever learn?! It gets tiring waiting for evolution to work its magic!
