Just because it's not WMD doesn't mean it couldn't be put to terrorist uses, of course. Same with the tons of explosives that were looted. They will kill Americans, Nadine. Israelis, too.
I was just pointing out the absurdity of claiming that terrorists are going to use bioweapons after months of claiming that there were no bioweapons in Iraq, Bush made it up! Claiming that random looting of medical research facilities = trained terrorists getting hold of weaponized anthrax, or some other such bioweapon, is really too silly to have to answer. If there was eveidence that the CDC was being used as cover for a bioweapons lab, and if trained terrorist biologists ran in among the looters knowing exactly what they were looking for, you might have a case (a case, which incidently, would strongly support Bush's WMDs rationale for the war). But as it is, you don't, not even close.
As for the other, conventional explosives, they matter if and only if getting hold of explosives was ever a limiting factor on attacks. Considering that Saddam turned the entire country into an ammo dump with hundreds of hidden caches - Anthony Cordesman, no friend to Bush, estimates that Al Qaqaa held 0.6% of the total at its height - this is certainly unproven and seems quite improbable on its face. |
