A year before he died Nixon embraced Kerry and posed with him for photos. They forgave each other and the wound healed.
Charles Colson apologized to Kerry from his prison cell where he went for diurty tricks, the same kind Bushies are committing today. Pat Buchanon admits Nixon would be very impressed with Kerry these days if he were alive. Just as we who opposed Nixon are now impressed by some of the things he did.

The Vietnam wound had healed until it was ripped open again by the Bushies. That is what McCain finds so damned dishonorable and dishonest.

This is not 1971. That was a very different time. And history has proven Kerry right, though as he admits, if he had it to do over again he would have been a bit more polite. But coming back from war a scarred man who had seen horrors, why should he have been polite? No one was polite in those days, on either side. Neither are the rightwing smearvets polite today. No respect whatsoever in fact.
