Custer didn't do his due diligence on the village he was about to attack . The Indians were ready for him. Bush is no combat leader like Custer but he does have the same arrogance. Even Custer's peers were surprised he didn't meet his maker earlier as the guy just charged in to battle without preparation. Bush's lack of preparation to keep the peace in Iraq is similar to what Custer was known for.
