POLIPUNDIT - Discharge

That other-than-honorable discharge story everyone was talking about yesterday is here. While it raises troubling questions, it’s not iron-clad enough to affect the presidential campaign. Excerpt:

The fact that Mr. Kerry had cancelled his candidacy for a Congressional seat in 1970 in favor of Father Robert Drinan cannot have hurt Mr. Kerry’s admission to Boston College. The Reverend Robert Drinan’s previous position was dean of the Boston College Law School.

No wonder Kerry won’t sign form 180.

Thomas Lipscomb is the reporter who broke this story and is doing yeoman work following up. I should note that, after Lipscomb’s last piece, PoliPundit.com readers began to raise questions about how Kerry could have entered the bar association with an OTH discharge. This latest piece by Lipscomb goes some way towards answering that.
