<Neoconservatives actually are so wicked that they think that civil liberties and democratic institutions are good for almost everyone>

Civil liberties and democracy have little or nothing to do with the "neocon" agenda. Neocons in no way hold these value more dearly than others in America -- quite the contrary. What distinguishes the neocon agenda is the idea that the US can bomb countries into submission and then miraculously they will turn into "democracies" chanting long live the USA -- and just by coincidence we have a preference for bombing countries that have strategic resources. This logic is so tortured that most people can't stand to even contemplate the implications of the US surveying the world and deciding who next to "democratise" -- i.e. who to bomb next. Democracies are not built on the piles of rubble and human flesh left over after you call in an airstrike. What we are seeing in Iraq is the reality of the neocon agenda -- stripped bare of its pretensions.
