How many countries have we tried to bomb into submission? You are making a bunch of ridiculous generalizations based on a very limited data sample. So far, we have engaged in Afghanistan and Iraq. Afghanistan has no strategic resources, and has successfully held an election under our auspices. Iraq does have strategic resources, but they are under the authority of the current Iraqi government, which is also attempting to hold a timely election. All I can see is that we are doing what we said we were going to do, whether as successfully as hoped or not.
