Not true at all -- this was the base of the terrorists who attacked us, and that makes it strategic because we had every right to defend ourselves. As for the elections, Afghanistan is ruled by the same heroin growing-dealing warlords that it always has been -- the veneer of "democracy" is just that -- veneer. Iraq was the test case for the neocon agenda -- most of the world including a very large portion of the American population has just two words for the neocon agenda -- good riddance.
