Washington Redskins vs. The President

It's one of those crazy coincidences that can't possibly be accurate...or could it? In every presidential election since 1936, the outcome of the Washington Redskins last home game before the election has indicated which candidate would win the election. If the Redskins won the game, the incumbant would win re-election. If Washington was defeated, a new man would occupy the White House.

'It's kind of amazing,' Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs said. 'You wouldn't think something like that would line up that many times.'

But it has lined up this way ever since Franklin D. Roosevelt was in office.
