N.C.; Participants Will Share Info on Latest Tools for Police and Military Business Editors/Education Editors ADVISORY...for Monday-Wednesday (Nov. 15-17) DURHAM, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 1, 2004--The sixth annual Non-lethal Technology and Academic Research (NTAR VI) Symposium will be held in Winston-Salem N.C. Nov. 15-17. Open to anyone interested in non-lethal technology development, the symposium is sponsored by the University of New Hampshire's Non-Lethal Technology Innovation Center and the Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate. "The goal of the conference is to identify new areas for non-lethal technology research for military and law-enforcement applications at home and abroad," says NTIC Director Glenn Shwaery, "as well as to share information on current research activities." A multi-disciplinary conference, the NTAR VI brings together members of academia, industry, law enforcement and government to exchange ideas, understanding and knowledge. The symposium will open with a keynote address and dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, November 15. Researchers from industry, government and more than a dozen universities will present cutting-edge research on non-lethal capabilities, human effects, laser technologies, computer databases, materials science and crowd-control issues. Topics will include electric stunning devices, modeling and simulation of injury and applications of nanostructured materials.
