I see that you are having some fun today Sun. I do expect more from you than joe willie, allen et al. Who do you think is going to win? Everything now seems to point to kerry, so i am thinking bush. Confusion reigns. I will make up my mind when i enter the polling booth as i did last time. I suspect I am not alone in this so more than the gross numbers, perhaps my(and symbolically others) last night of talking heads, hardball, pollwatching, and newswatching will decide this election after all. I wish we had better choices. My first election and it is one i was too young to vote in back in 1960(i was 15) pitted two brilliant men against each other. Forget that nixon had his psych problems and kennedy his sexual ones, both of those guys seemed eminently qualified to be president, at least to that 15 year old. Mike PS One additional thought. If the battle for falujah is as inevitable as it seems, it should have been fought before the election. I think waiting until after allowed kerry to focus on the weapons story and the daily carnage in iraq in general. War would have the republicans, assuming inevitable success of course. Also bin ladens appearance seems to be a wash between bush being better at fighting terrors vs kerry claim that bush couldnt catch bin laden. I think there is one other thing that tips this to kerry that has to do with obls line about sweden and possible end of hostilities with us. Its part of the Jacob snyder view that many americans may be attracted to--that has an old isolationist component, old negotiating component, old appeasement component--- that might get the fancy of some pro bush, cultural conservative indys and lead them to vote for a less belligerent and more inclined to negotiate, kerry. |
