Of note is an article recounting the heightened chip demand imposed by the virtual pet craze. The last paragraphs of the piece may be telling. The toy graveyard is littered with the crazes and fads of yesteryear, from the hula hoop to Power Rangers. From what I gather, there is already evidence that the virtual pet craze is subsiding in Japan. Confer: techweb.cmp.com Meanwhile, Playmates stands to benefit as the mania ratchets up worldwide.
