Regards Nixon and Kerry, we are left with the choice of a public hug, a "Hollywood kiss" of sorts, or the comments that Nixon made in private to one of his closest confidants. Trust me, the private comments reflect Nixon's real thoughts on Kerry. To Nixon, Kerry was "that SOB."

Nixon was working on our withdrawal from Vietnam from the first day of his administration. He always felt that the U.S. protesters severely undercut his ability to cobble together a peace plan that would give the south a fighting chance. Our inability to achieve that objective cost tens of thousands of individuals to lose their lives and created over a million boat people. Thank you John Kerry.

Nixon despised the protesters, though found them useful when it came time to rally his base.

Pat Buchanon admits Nixon would be very impressed with Kerry these days if he were alive.

Admits? A strange word choice. Nixon would probably have been "impressed" that Kerry could snag the Democratic nomination with such an inconsequential record.
