Azure Dynamics Selects Cobasys NiMHax 336-70 Nickel Metal Hydride Battery Packs for Hybrid Electric Vehicles
TROY, MI, November 1, 2004 — Cobasys, a key supplier of advanced Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery systems, and Azure Dynamics Corporation, a leader in the supply of advanced hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) technology, are cooperating on the development of HEV's using NiMH battery packs for the postal and package delivery fleet markets. Azure currently has a contract with Purolator for the production of up to 2,000 fleet vehicles. Azure is also working with Canada Post, London Taxis International, Leyland Product Development, Renault Trucks UK and the United States Postal Service.
Cobasys will supply its powerful, light weight, compact NiMHax® 336-70 battery system for this Purolator application along with installation and technical support for the production of hybrid vehicles. This includes mechanical packaging, wiring, battery management electronics, communications interface and thermal systems.
