If you claim people at your AA meetings or NA meetings laugh at a genetic connection with addiction because they don't find it useful, I'll take your word for it. Addicts can believe whatever nonsense they need to stay sober, that's fine by me.

But I can assure you people at Al-Anon meetings would find your comments hysterical.

I'm also certain some of the newcomers would feel sorrow for you and try to comfort you and telling you not to let the laughter bother you.

I'd also bet that at least one person who goes to both programs might ask if you've considered going to AA.
