Greetings on election day. I woke up early and saw no reason not to get going on the day. I see the European markets are calm and the US $ is rising slightly - to me that, plus yesterday's market - means the smart money is saying we will have no electoral chaos.
I hope they are right and that one of the candidates wins at least 53 - 47.

Finally, I would like to leave the thought that the dominant issue in this election is the size and role of government. Is big government better than smaller government. Is the economic welfare of the nation better with more of the money in the hands of the people or the government. Is more regulation - especially uncertain regulation - better than less and certain regulation. Are markets the proper way to set prices or not.

If one believes government is the answer then kerry is your person. All of the social issues are second tier. If there is not a healthy economy their will be no social welfare. If you believe government is not the answer then Dubya is your candidate.

At 6:30 am this morning I will be voting for George W. Bush.

Bob
