You call them "misinformed" -- Bush calls them his "base". It is election day -- lets ses how big his "base" really is. No effort has been spared to misinform his "base". Can you fool enough of the people to win an election? Today we will see. My position is that you can only fool that many people if they are willing to go along with you for some other reason. I think the base Bush draws on chooses to "believe" what they are told because they have other reasons to support Bush at all costs. I think core Bush supporters don't want to think about the war -- they want a President who will engage in doing "Gods work" -- one who will stop abortions, who will fund "faith-based" initiatives and one who will stack the supreme court with judges who will turn the clock back to the days before the Constitution protected our rights. If that means going along for the ride on Iraq, so be it. Bush provides the chorus and they sing along -- no thinking required, just true believers.

Foreign policy has been the central theme of this election -- the poll you cite sheds more light on the foreign policy debate than a thousand other posts here -- many thanks. But I think it is only half the story.
