I voted for the open primary. I weighed all the issues like you did, but in the end, my feeling is that republicans in CA especially have been destroyed by the primary process with a bunch of far right nuts who can't win a general election and that isn't a good thing. We had a huge number of quality candidates on the recall ballot imho and I'd like to get more people like that running so open primary it is.

The wierdest proposition for me is the 3 strikes reform. I expected that to get OVERWHELMING support from just about everybody. Instead, both major parties are against it, I don't get it. I voted for it anyway but with so many against it, I doubt it passes.

I just voted, my voting place was PACKED. Huge turnout this time.
