For the reasons I noted in my post, I had a very negative emotional reaction to Kerry. Moreover, his running mate reminds me of Pat Sajak. Since the VP is an increasingly important personage, I cannot countenance Pat and Vana potentially becoming the occupants of the WH should a tragedy occur.

All of this does not mean that I'm anywhere near ready to suggest W is ready to be canonized.

Until 9/11 I thought he was doing a mediocre job. After that, I saw a transformation in him that won me over. But I could have voted for a Lieberman or a McCain.

The execution of his war policies has not been terrific, but war is chaos and uncertainty. He's made a number of mistakes, and lacks a diplomacy gene, as Nadine has aptly put it.

I firmly believe we are in an existential struggle, something W clearly recognizes. I'm not sure JFK2 does or, if he does, whether it makes any difference to him so long as his ambitions are satisfied.

I have no idea what JFK2's core beliefs are, no clue, and I've studied the man intensely.
