BATTLEGROUND - WISCONSIN: MORE INFO, FOR WHAT IT IS WORTH [Kathryn Jean Lopez 11/02 05:13 PM]
[An e-mail: this is how the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on their early exit polling – call me crazy but this would suggest pretty good trend numbers for Bush – 39 percent GOP with many males who presumably haven’t voted yet – doubt know if the 6 percent “new” voter number is higher than expected though .]
“TUESDAY, Nov. 2, 2004, 2 p.m. Early exit polls
Who is voting today in Wisconsin? Early exit poll information provides a glimpse.
According to mid-day results from around 700 interviews, 56% are female, 44% male; 6% are voting for the first time, while 94% have voted before. Some 39% identify themselves as Republican, 36% Democrat and 25% independent. Meanwhile, 69% say their vote for president was "for" their candidate, while 27% said it was "against his opponent."
When asked the most important issue to them, the poll showed essentially a four-way split: 21% said Iraq, 21% said moral values, 19% said terrorism, and 19% said economy/jobs.
The National Election Pool Survey, conducted by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International, is part of an exit polling effort by large media outlets, including the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and JS Online.com.” |
