That's unclear. You could also argue that the election would have been Bush by 20 points if the MSM had treated the two candidates equally and gone after Kerry's military records as they did Bush's. By that measure, the MSM has been considerably effective.

However, I completely agree with Glenn Reynolds that the MSM have exposed themselves as completely in the tank for Kerry this time around.
