Edwards hints at a challenge in a few weak sentences to the glum poodle-pumpers but I don't think it's gonna happen.

This is nothing like 2000 where GW won Florida by an official 537 votes and (perhaps) had no overall national popular vote margin.

The Florida margin this time could well be 500,000 after absentee ballots are counted; the Ohio margin is well over 100,000. GW's national popular vote margin will be a solid 2-3% amounting to approximately 3 MILLION votes.

A Kerry challenge to this election would be tantamount to the DNC committing the final act of political harikiri. The public backlash would be intense and they would lose the last remaining handful of decent Democratic voters who haven't already officially switched to the GOP. A "scorched earth" electoral strategy would leave them burned and in tatters for many, many years.

Open that bottle of champagne, Ann!--MK--
